Bayshore CRA Landscape Maintenance

Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency · East Naples · Quick Quote QQ-2027-003

Clear overgrown vegetation, trash, and exotic plants by hand on 19 small CRA-owned lots, about 11.8 acres in all, then keep them mowed, trimmed, and sprayed through September 2027. Each lot gets 18 visits: twice a month May through October and once a month November through April.

Size of the work
19 lots × 18 visits = 342 priced visits
Term
Through September 30, 2027, prices fixed

Red flags

  • Pollution insurance, $1 million. Unusual for mowing work, and many small crews do not carry it.
  • Herbicide spraying is required. Expect to need an FDACS pesticide applicator license.
  • Initial cleanup includes trash. Tires and debris must be hauled off, so price in dump fees.

Good signs for a small crew

  • Small lots that standard mowers and trimmers can handle.
  • Quick Quote format: no notarized forms, just acknowledgments and four attachments.
  • No bond, and steady work for eleven months.

Why it scored this way

A well-sized job for a small crew, with simple paperwork and no bond. It is not a clear Go because the pollution insurance and pesticide license will rule out many small shops, and the initial cleanup makes the first visits hard to price.

Downtown Buildings Landscape Maintenance

Lee County Procurement Management · Fort Myers · Invitation to Bid B230178MWB

Maintain the grounds at thirteen downtown Fort Myers county sites for three years: weekly mowing March through November, every two weeks in winter, plus daily weekday cleanup of parking lots, entries, and courtyards, fertilization, pest control, and palm and tree trimming.

Term
Three years
How it is awarded
Lowest qualified bid
Prior-year spend
About $32,600, which looks low for the scope
Bond
None

Red flags

  • Daily cleanup adds about 260 visits a year on top of mowing, and it is the line most bidders underprice.
  • Traffic certification. Work near roads needs someone with an Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certificate.
  • Two notarized forms and a hand-delivered sealed box.

Good signs for a small crew

  • No bond and a three-year term.
  • Thirteen sites, all downtown, so one crew can cover the route.
  • Clear county forms with a published bid schedule.

Why it scored this way

Steady, well-defined work that fits a mid-sized crew. Price the daily cleanup carefully and ask the county in writing whether the scope changed, since last year’s spend seems low for this much work.
